Charting the Course: Where Are You in Your Dural Arteriovenous Fistulas Treatment Journey?
Hello everyone! 👋
Welcome to our group—a vital space for neurosurgeons, neurologists, interventional radiologists, and researchers dedicated to the complex field of Dural Arteriovenous Fistulas (dAVF) treatment. This is a community to share expertise, debate strategies, and collectively advance our understanding of this challenging neurovascular condition. I'm honored to be part of this collective.
To get us started, I'd love to hear your story:
What’s your current goal or challenge with treating dAVFs?
Maybe you're a neurosurgeon refining a microsurgical technique to minimize patient invasiveness.
Or you're a radiologist evaluating the latest liquid embolic agents for a complex embolization.
Perhaps you're a patient or caregiver seeking a clear understanding of your treatment options and recovery path.
What is one technique, tool, or research study you're most passionate about right now?
Whether it's the use of 4D CTA for pre-procedural planning, a specific clinical trial on a new therapeutic approach, or a case that challenged your understanding of dAVF classification, we’d love to know what gets you excited!
Here’s mine to get the ball rolling:
"I’m an interventional neuroradiologist who has been focused on improving the long-term success rates of endovascular embolization for high-grade dAVFs. I've been experimenting with a combination of transvenous and transarterial approaches to ensure complete occlusion of the fistula. My next step is to analyze long-term patient outcomes to validate our approach and reduce recurrence, so I'd love to hear about any studies, protocols, or examples that have helped you improve your patient's prognosis."
